Stana Katic
Born on April 26, 1978 (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada).
Stana Katic has that rare mix of sharp intellect and disarming charm — the kind of screen presence that can make a crime scene feel like a chessboard. For eight seasons on Castle (2009–2016), she was Detective Kate Beckett: whip-smart, fiercely independent, and impossible not to root for. In Absentia series (2017–2020), she shed the procedural polish for something darker and more visceral, playing an FBI agent forced to confront trauma, betrayal, and the shadows of her own past.
Off-screen, Katic is just as engaged: fluent in several languages and raised between cultures, she brings a cosmopolitan perspective to her work. She also stepped into producing with the historical thriller A Call to Spy (2019), following in the footsteps of fellow actresses-turned-producers like Amy Adams, Charlize Theron, and Mélanie Laurent, all of whom have used their creative control to champion distinctive, challenging stories. Through her nonprofit The Alternative Travel Project, Katic advocates for sustainable, car-free living, weaving activism into the fabric of her public life.
